Default New Tires - Michelin Lattitute Tours

I just had these tires installed and I love them. I replaced the Duelers I had on which looked good but gave me crappy mileage (15 mpg.). The Michelins are wider than the Duelers but weight 6 pounds per tire less! They look really wide and my gas mileage has improved to 19 mpg. I'm very happy with my purchase.

You must be really flooring it to get that bad of a gas mileage...or maybe just city driving? Did you have your tire pressure up to spec when you had the duelers?

I did not know certain tires could increase MPG by 4. Wow!

15 mpg is so bad it's hard to believe. 19 mpg is still not good. Do you do just short trips or city stop-n-go driving? Not saying this applies to you but we had two RX drivers here complaining of poor mpg. It turned out that the reason was they were driving in 4th gear instead of "Drive".

I bet 15 mpg is not that unusual. I live in the LA area so there is a lot of stop-n-go driving but also a lot of wide open freeway driving as well. I take impeccable care of my car so incorrect tire pressure, lack of engine maintenance, etc. are not an issue. Oh, and I do know the difference between 4th gear and drive.

Thank You for the info I am going to put these on my RX also. I almost went to Continentals or Pirelli's but even a friend said use Michellin's as you get a better softer ride with them.

As soon as I hit about 25K miles on my SRX a few years ago, I put Latitude Tours on for the rest of the lease. They were a great improvement over the noisy stock Goodyears.
