Default Leak from winshield

For my RX330..Its wierd when it rains I get no leaks, but when it snows and it starts to melt water starts leaking through the top of the windshield. I took it to the dealer they said there were no problems..

Sounds like a problem with window moulding(which would be out of warranty). Dealer said "no problems found" or they couldn't "duplicate the problem"?

To be exact they said they couldn't duplicate the problem..Its been at the dealer for a few days the first thing they checked was the moulding and said it seemed to be fine.

During cold temperatures below 32 degrees, when snowing, the seals may shrink just enough to allow water in. When it warms up to where it is only raining outside the seals may have expanded enough to seal the gap(s). If you get a really cold day in the next few weeks, regardless if it is snows or not, pour some very cold water (just above freezing if possible) around the windshield where you think it is leaking to see if you can reproduce it that way. Using warm water will just expand the seals and possibly prevent the leak from occurring.

The windshiel on the RX is glued in with urethane, no rubber seals involved whatsoever.

Something like this: http://www.tcpglobal.com/AutoBodyDep...spx?ItemNo=MMM 8609

You can also use it for sealing the leaks.

Find a shop with a these tools - an ultrasonic noise generator and an ultrasonic leak detector. Generator is put inside vehicle and detector is run around the windshield on the outside of the car. Hopefully the leak path can be found this way.

Good luck.

It may leak through the sunroof. Snow melts, water gets in through the roof and runs down to your windshield.

I bet you could find that leak by spraying some soapy water around the outside of the windshield, and then having someone watch for bubbles as you use a blow drier to blow air around the windshield from the inside. When you get close to where the leak is with the blow drier, I'd think you'd be able to see it.

Maybe this would work. On a day when it is above freezing, turn on the car, crank up the fan to hi, and make sure it is taking in outside air. Then close the doors/windows, and spray some soapy water around the seal. It might pressurize the inside of the car enough to cause bubbles where the leak is. Mark it with magic marker and take it back to the dealer for a fix.
