Default required maintenance light

Just wondering does the required maintenance light come on if the car needs an oil change? I had the 90,000 miles service done about 14,000 miles ago. And my last oil change was completed about 3500 miles.

Sorry I don't have the owner manuel that's why I'm asking.

Comes on every 5K miles or so. Dealer should reset after each oil change. Oil change intervals are 5K.

You can register at the Lexus.com website and you gain access to the OM on-line or you can order a free replacement hardcopy OM.

Engine-Oil Replacement Reminder Light
Your vehicle is equipped with a dashboard light to remind you when the engine oil needs to be replaced. The light is amber and labeled “MAINT REQD.” When you turn the ignition key to the “ON” position, the light will illuminate for about three seconds to indicate that the reminder system is working properly.
After you have driven 5,000 miles since the vehicle’s last oil change, the light will illuminate for about three seconds and then flash for another 12 seconds when you turn the ignition key to the “ON” position. If you use 5,000-mile maintenance intervals, you should re- place the engine oil at your earliest opportunity once the light starts flashing.
After you have driven 7,500 miles since the vehicle’s last oil change, the light will remain illuminated when you turn the ignition key to the “ON” position. When this occurs, you should replace the engine oil as soon as possible, regardless of which maintenance interval you use.

Reset the system by the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position with the odometer reading shown. (For details, see “Odometer and trip meter” on page 73.)
2. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position while holding down the “ODO/TRIP” button.
Hold down the button for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates “000000” and the light goes off.
If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.

Yep, every 5,000 miles as long as reset each time.

There is a simple procedure to reset. If you search you will most likely find it here.
