i got a 06 IS250 about 7-8 months now, i remember i changed the oil a month after i got the car, and i have put over 5k miles after that oil change, is the oil change light come on every 5k or 10k miles? and if i want to change the oil before the light on how do i reset it?

 

You should get a Maint. Soon message at 4500 miles, then the service required one at 5000.

so the answer is every 5000 miles the light on, and to reset the light have to be on, no early oil change.

The light comes on when the internal counter reaches X miles.

I suspect anytime you perform the reset procedure, regardless of if the light is already on or not, it resets that counter to 0.
