Someone mentioned that a new model of the RX300 will come out later this year or early next year. Is there any more information on this? Does anyone have pictures of what the new model will look like? I want to get an RX to add to my Lexus collection but don't want to get one just before they are about to change models. I'd rather wait for the new model. Any info would be appreciated.

I heard that that pic was the prototype for the RX the new RX300 is different

That looks like the prototype for the current rx300. Not the new one. I you do a search for new rx300 or words like that you'll find some pics and information

I remember the first RX pic as the prototype for the first gen. ('99-'03+) RX.

haha its ok... all prototypes never come out looking how it looks... always comes out much nicer =) hopefully for lexus hehe

 

Went to the dealerr to put down my deposit on a GX - which he thought would begin arriving late Dec/early Jan as we have heard. I also put a "deposit" on a new RX but they wouldn't take the money for the RX - just filled out the paper - so I hope I really am #1.

Dealer said that:

(1) Lexus would not "reveal" much about new RX until right before release of car - unlike year in advance PR splash around GX

(2) he had heard that its a complete redesign that would be "amazing" and create tremendous excitement

(3) there would likely be a 2003 "release" of exisiting version for six months or so before new model is introduced in Spring 2003 as a 2004 model.

Not sure how accurate this is but he was spot-on with his advance info on the SC.

So now my question is: which one will I get - the lease on my RX runs out in Jan 03!
