Wink Any One Seafoam Your Rx330?

Did anybody do that before? Seafoam is supposed to burn the carbon which build up in engine and clean fuel system. I wonder if this strong stuff could hurt any part or sensor? I don't want my check engine light on after I have done that. And also any suggested thing I need to work after seafoaming, like change oil, filter? Thanks for your replies.

It's safe, shouldn't harm any sensors. An oil/oil filter change after would do wonders as you're flushing out all the gunk built up after running it. I haven't done it on the rx as I only have 1k miles on it...ask me in 5years

I've seafoamed my car at least 3 times. Never any problems. Do it every 3 or 4 oil changes, right before you go in for your 3rd or 4th oil change. If you're car's a little older, it might also require you to change out your spark plugs--I've heard stories of people who needed to do so because the caked carbon basically broke off in chunks and bounced around in the cylinders. I'll be seafoaming and changing spark plugs with my next scheduled oil change.

I have not used Seafoam in my 07 RX350 because I do not have that many miles, but I have used Seafoam on two other cars that had over 100K miles. I poured 1/2 can into the crankcase and then drove the car about 20 miles to get the oil change with no harm. The other 1/2 can I poured into the gas tank. Many people use Seafoam with no reported issues.

For newer vehicles, be careful on how much you add if your adding through vacuum. May set off check engine lights. I know a couple people who damaged o2s as well.

I'm going to seafoam in 500 or so miles. Does anyone want me to make an RX-specific DIY?

Anybody in NYC/LI know where I might be able to drive hard without drawing too much attention?

I'm coming to this thread a little late, but I'd like to add a +1 for a DIY on the Seafoam.

I've done it by pulling off the large vacuum line from the brake booster and with the car running, let it drink about a half a can. Then shut off the car, reattach the vacuum hose and let it sit for 10 minutes. Restart the car and if you have a lot of carbon build up, you will see a lot of smoke out the exhaust pipe. If you regularly use a Top Tier Fuel, you'll probably see nothing. It will be a waste to do.

I thought if you put seafoam in a vacuum line the engine should die on its own?

It will bog down but it will automatically adjust to keep it from stalling.
