I've got 160k on mine 2005 RX330. It runs/drives perfectly, and it looks fantastic.I am hoping to keep it another 10 years and 140k.

So far, basic maintenance is all I have done. We did have the sunroof break, and the usual dash issues, but both were handled under warranty.

I have an 2005 RX330 w 166,000. It had about 55K miles when I bought it used from a single owner. Change oil religiously. Did my first drain and fill on the transmission this year. Changed timing belt at 100K. About to need a power steering pump I think. But I would like to get 100K more out of it. Love my car.

Just got my 04 rx330 awd with 77600 miles and yup, you're not alone about feeling guilty lol. As for maintenance, i'm prepared to have all the following done once it hits 90k.. timing belt, transmission, engine and power steering flushes, spark plugs. I barely drive it around town so I guess that'll help to extend the life of the car. The original owner drove it literally 5k-6k (rough estimate) per year since she bought it back in 03 and was a maintenance craze (5k, 10k, 15k etc) up to the last year of ownership which was last year (2016). So i'm very optimistic.

Keep an eye on your belt, I have an '05 with ~74K miles and just changed my belt last weekend. It was in pretty bad shape, mechanic said it was not going to last until 90K.... I guess age is also a huge factor on top of miles.

good point! since I'll be taking her to a local lexus dealer for other stuff, might as well have them look at it. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you with parts including labor? Did you have it done at a lexus dealer or third party?.. thanks for the advice my friend!

I usually would do it myself but it was freezing that weekend in Chicago so I had my 3rd party mechanic do it and I supplied all the parts. I'm good at sourcing OEM parts without the dealer which saved me a pretty penny. Dealer quoted me ~$500 in parts before labor, didn't even want to ask what labor was..... I spent ~$260 in parts and another $250 in labor, so $510 total compared to $1100-1300 quotes I see here and there from Lexus. Car is quiet and smooth again as one of my tensioners were bad and it was making a racket in my engine bay.

My advice, if you want to stick to a dealer, go to a Toyota dealer and have it done. They will service Lexus and even other makes people just never ask. Labor rate for Toyota is much less then Lexus and the engines are practically the same. Unfortunately you would probably would need to get parts from Lexus as Toyota doesn't cross-reference for me. You can also supply your own parts but they will not warranty the parts just the labor.

My 2007 RX350 is currently at 167,000 miles and it looks like a new car and drives like one. It's remarkable just how well these things age.

Your best bet would be to find a smaller outfit with a reliable mechanic in your area who for a minimum has great knowledge & experience with Toyota vehicles, which shouldn't be too difficult as Toyotas are all over the place.
I was fortunate to find a owner/mechanic (even if I have to drive 25 miles to get there) who is honest, does excellent work & only charges $50. an hour.
As Lexuswiz, I would tackle certain repairs on my own although with the winters in the Great White North, that is impossible at this time of the year.
Also some repairs require specialized tools or a hoist or both therefore it is less expensive to have the work done than purchase a bunch of specialized tools you may not use again for a long time.
Although if you are getting the work done by a mechanic, research & purchase the parts on your own.

I just had this done in Nov of last year and to do the water pump and timing belt, along with oil change and filters was about $1160 at the dealership.

anyhow, so i called the Lexus dealer where i'll be taking my ride out to for a check up and informed me that there'll be no charge for diagnostics and brake pads / timing belt check-ups - so whew and if something needs to be replaced or done, i'd probably go to a Toyota dealership to have it serviced. Based on the carfax, the original owner took it to Toyota for maintenance service more often than to a Lexus dealer.

Wife's 08 RX350 AWD with 125K miles on it. Besides water pump, Radiator, thermostat, both front wheels bearing replacement, everything else are in good shape.
Oil change religiously at 6-7K miles interval with mobil 1 high mileage, transmission fuild drain/refill evey year. Brake fluid flushed at 110K miles along with 4 new OEM rotors and pads. Power steering fuild replaced every 3 years (turkey baster method), rear differential gear oil drained/refilled at 90K miles.

I sourced all parts online and bring them to my long time mechanics, saved a lot of money that way.

170,000+ miles on my RX330 with the original engine and transmission. So far no issues, outside of regular maintenance and routine wear items. I expect to get at least 300k miles out of it.
