I have a RX350 2007 with less than 18,000 on it.I have a noise in the egine that sound like a value, or value spring that may be broken.
Does anybody have any thoughts what the problem is.

I`m sure your under warranty,I would make an appointment with the dealer A.S.A.P

 

How loud is the ticking noise?

 

What is a egine?? If u mean engine do u think it could be the injectors.

 

If it sounds like a valve spring may be broken,you better get it checked out.But that would be much more than a ticking sound.

 

I don't know if you have resolved this or not but there is a seventh injector that is used at start up to enrich the mixture until the engine is warmed up. You can hear this injector at start up. I called the dealer ship on this and he knew right what I was taking about.

I just bought the 07 RX350 and noticed that tapping noise too (sound like the valve). I called the dealer and the head tech said use Premium Gas in next couple fill up to see if it's go away. If not, I have to bring it in for them to check it out.

 

Any updates on this issue?

 

My 04 had a TSB for injector ticking noise, got it done and now it's gone.

 

Just dropped the RX off the dealer ship this morning. I told the rep it has a lound tapping noise when cold start (sound disel engine) and he told me they will check it out. He said he kinda knew the problem. We'll see how it'll goes. I also got the passenger outside molding comes loose too.

Do we have to tell them this is the warranty work or they already know it should be under warranty? I got CPO with 3 years 100k miles warranty.

My wife's '04 RX330 started making a ticking noise. Well outside the warranty period so will have to check out that TSB.

Does anyone have a pdf on that TSB by chance?

 

They know what the problem is, it's piston slap. Mine has is bad. Just Google "Lexus piston slap". There's a couple of days worth of reading there. I just can't understand why they made a motor and didn't have the clearance of cylinder and piston OD correct.

 

May be carbon buildup - try a can of BG 44K in a full gas tank.
