the fuel consumption is not effected. the speed signal that they are working with only supplies information to the GPS system. the fuel consumption information is being extracted from the engine computer. these 2 information system don't talk to each other.
hope this helps

I have the 400H. I found the install really simple for lockpick 3 basic, but it didn't work. In fact, because of my small hands I didn't need to completely remove the tray, just wedge it open a bit with a flashlight. In the interim, I ordered the lockpick 3 ultimate since I don't have DVD. At first coastal tach said it wouldn't work, but I e-mailed saying I thought it was just those with the ML sound and rear DVD. got a phone call that said it should work. I haven't tried installing it yet. Hopefully this weekend so I can return basic. The component looks the same, but the paperwork they sent said it won't work until all components are installed. I am not sure how to access the back of the stereo system to install the other components. Anybody out there installed ultimate or know how to reach behind. I don't have little pop-off panels. Do I go through the glove compartment - that's how my iPod was installed, I guess.

Thanks!

will be interesting to see what you find.

here is how they explained to me. they sell 2 harnesses. The bacic 3
goes on the nav dvd player and unlocks the nav (only). the other is the ultimate 3 and goes in back of the head unit/nav screen which unlocks blue tooth and video if you have it.

2 separate hookups. but they have a bundled package called ultimate lockpick 3 plus which is just the same 2 parts but at a slight combo discount. If that is true, the ultimate won't help you. I just got the basic so all I know is that it works on 08/09 350s. I would expect that the nav hardware is the same in your h so surprised it didn't work for you.

maybe the 2 parts of the ultimate do work together and it will be a solution. they sure described them as 2 independent parts to me. good luck.

there are do it yourself posts with pictures on how to pull the nav/stereo head unit. use the search function. I don't think you can install the ultimate without pulling the nav out of the dash.

Thanks. I hope to get a chance to do it this weekend. I didn't even get the reboot on the nav unit - although it did reboot when I removed it and reconnected the original...

I found one set of pictures but the console is different set up than the 400h. I don't have the little panels to pop off. I'll have to give it a closer look. Ultimate is also supposed to unlock the ipod grayed out screens and telephone functions. There might be a 3rd component, I think as well.

odd about no reboot. when you disconnet the original cable, insert the lockpick and connect the original to the other end of lockpick and turn it on, i'm pretty confident that my system rebooted. then, as you know, you get the pushpin icon on the nav dest screen which you press to unlock the system. good luck with the full setup. hopefully it will work.
