Question Lexus RX 330/350 Redesign?

Does anyone now when the RX 330/350 will have a full or partial redesign, more than additions of chrome and minor updates? I think this generation model was released in 2004 so I assume 5 years will have a new one like in 2009 or 2010?

Thanks

Well whatever the new design is, I hope its a winner like the current design.

It would be interesting to have a RX470 v8 . But I dont think itll happen.

I dont think that will happen either. The 4.7 V8 engine is design for towing with lots of torque. You are more likely to see the V6 from the IS350 in the next generation of the RX.

Unless the RX gets a significant size boost, I don't think it will ever see a V8, except one day in a "F" trim. Really, for the size, a V6 is enough. With fuel prices rising and staying high, a V8 option would probably sell very low and not justify to have it for Lexus. Also, by having ANOTHER V8 in the SUV family, then you're eating away even more into GX territory.

For me to replace my RX:

1. Has to look much better than the current and my Gen1 RX
2. USEABLE third row (not a 3rd row for dogs)
3. 360 hp.

Just kidding on the 3rd item, but first two have to be better, or no deal for me. I'll run my '99 to the ground then, or wait for Gen4 RX.

Conventional wisdom would say that's the case, but the Highlander model cycle hasn't exactly followed a parallel production to the RX. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd gen RX is a 2010 model coming early 2009. Even if it's drop dead nice, I wouldn't get the first year production, I'd wait for 2nd year production to clear the kinks.

2009 model is coming out in early 2008 (and will be relatively unchanged) leading one to conclude that the 2010 model will be the complete re-design based on the same platform as the Toyota Highlander. I would imagine it'll be an early release in the year 2009 (anywhere from Feb-April ... that's a guess).

...nobody thinks that the new highlander is a tell tale sign of what the new RX is going to look like right? Ok good, because it isn't. it is a visual test to see how people like the design because it is the new LX lines..

The new RX won't look anymore like the Highlander than the previous generation did ... they'll just use the same underpinnings and (likely, but not for sure) engine.

fyi..i just bought a new '08 RX350 for my wife and we were concerned on new body change to consider waiting for new RX.

but found out for sure that the '09 will not change until at least early in '09.

Thus the new body will be a '10 model.

I know this for a fact because I actually have the '09 RX brochure from the dealer.

Got a great deal with December to Remember sale with Nav & HID package.

Saved almost $6k !!!
