Default 2009 Lexus RX

When did the 2008 RX come out? IS the general consensus out there that the 2009 will come out in April or in Fall of '08?

...everytime a new generation of the RX came out, it debuts at an auto show in january/february area...then it is usually on sale in April. that is all speculation based on lexus trends. the 2008 came out in like june. so yeh it should come out next year in april

I too would guess March/April. I know we bought our 04 RX330 in April 2003, so the all new models come out real early.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the new 09 looks like and what it has to offer. We might actually buy another RX if the 09 looks good.

I believe the 2008 RX350 was available in March of 2007.

What is the speculation on what the changed features will be? I've seen the concept car so I have some idea about what some possible looks changes might be. So, what do people think will be the main feature changes.

1) Bigger HP/Torque from the same 3.5L engine
2) Keyless entry (like lexus IS and GS) and start stop button
3) 9" LCD color screen for both nav and non nav model with standard backup camera.
4) 3rd row seat (small size), just like acura mdx
5) audio aux input standard
6) HID standard, no halogen will be offered.
7) real time traffic update capability
8) panoramic roof option (like the new ES?)
9) optitron gauge like Lexus IS'
10) 6 speed auto or maybe 7 speed

I am sure for the 1st couple months of arrival, lexus dealers are going to sell the 2009RX at MSRP or more.

I think they will sell at MSRP, but not over that. In my state we have only 1 Lexus dealer. They really do have the opportunity to gauge if they wanted to. That said, I bought my RX330 at full MSRP back in April 03. I bought it from my friend who worked there and he couldn't do anything for me on the RX. If I had bought a GS from him at that time, he could have given me a really good deal, but not even he as an employee could get a discount on the RX330 at the very early months.

This time around, if we like the new RX, I don't think we will buy it when it first comes out. We'll either wait a few months or even wait for the 2nd year, considering the 2010 will probably be out in Sept-Nov of the same year it would only be a few months wait anyway.

we all wish, but gotta be patient

also add to the list of the new model:
1)HDD navigation with music storage
2)probably some more off roading features like hill decent control and hill start assist and all that jazz
3)bumper sonar sensors

i dont think it will be a 7 speed. it will most likely be the 6 speed from the ES

expect horsepower to be near the GS350. 303 i think

i doubt it will have more off roading features. since the current one is recommended to stay on the road. everything else is probably going to happen

Those hill decent control and hill start assist are mostly software, very cheap to put in. Kind of useless to the average driver.

If you want to get a sneak preview of what features what the 09 RX will be like, look at the current 08 Highlander. One feature I like that the 08 Highlander has now is the adjustable seat cushion that extends fore/aft for better thigh support. Since the Highlander now has it, there is strong likelihood it would be on the 09 RX.

My wish list for the 09 is simple this.

The LCD monitor on all RX's with or ithout NAV. Can you believe that even the RX400H in my state does NOT have an LCD screen?

An Aux A/V input to route audio and or video through the stock system and be viewed on the LCD screen just like the Infiniti.

A DVD based audio system that plays DVD-A and DVD movies just like the IS/GD/LS.

A 6 or 7 Speed tranny that is not junk like the one in the ES350 and Camry V6.

More power would be nice, but I'm already satisfied with 268HP unless they add a lot more weight, than that 306HP in the IS/GS sounds real good.

True dual exhaust.

a 19" or even 20" optional wheel package (Maybe on their "Sports" package).

That is really about all I need.
