Default Thinking about adding another Lexus to the stable

I'm looking for some advise. There is an 04 RX330 AWD with 84k miles for $23k discounted with the December to Remember promotion. My only concern is that it was a loaner for the dealership. The exterior and interior are both in real good condition and since it was a loaner they probably kept up with all maintenance. Do you guys have any thoughts and advice? Thanks.

...are you sure the interior is in real good condition? all my loaners were crap on the inside. dirty carpets, dirty leather, dirty drink holders. lol. truly dirty.

also, god knows what people do in those cars when they are down the street from the dealership. the cars are probably treated worse than enterprise vehicles.

Price seems high to me. I just purchased my 04 Rx330 FWD for 24k with only 44k on the clock with one owner from a non Lexus dealer. As far as price it seems high to me.

As far as condition is concerned. The car is expected to look in top notch shape with all service done (ask for service records). Check to see if any part of the car has been painted. Loaners must be repainted due to customer recklessness, you can usually tell if its been repainted.

I really doubt people are going to hot rod RX330's when they get it as a loaner

This is worst than the CPO. Since it is loaner car, Who know how many people has been driven it and those people will not care for the condition of this loaner since it is a one time drive.

Loaners may be maintained but there is a potential of lack of owner's care.

On the bright side ... the unit you get is fairly well tested .

What gets me is that they would even keep a loaner for 4 years and 80+ thousand miles! Seems wrong to me.

Even though I said that statement in the above post, I would never buy a loaner or a rental. I hate buying used, well I dont do that either

Maybe they DIDN'T keep it for 4 years and 80K miles. Maybe they took it in on trade or back from lease and then decided to make a loaner out of it since it was in good condition?

I wouldn't buy a used rental car but I wouldn't have any issue buying a car that had been a loaner, unless it was something like a Corvette or BMW. I can't imagine people tearing around the streets in their loaner RX! Kind of goes against the mental image.

If there is one thing worst than dealer demo cars, its loaners and rentals.

Well I figure that most of the people don't go tearing up the streets in a SUV. I figure that the majority of lexus owners hear in Co are middle aged to old and I can't really see them tearing up the streets. But you never know. Maybe I'll just keep looking. Thanks for all the comments.

Really. I floored my 2007 RX350 trying to compete with an Infinity G35 the other day....You all guess who win. I just try to test my RX to see how fast it can run and I am impressed.

Don't buy a loaner because people trash them. My Lexus dealer in Brisbane replaces their loaners after 5-6000k's I think. I have not driven a loaner with more than 7000k's.

alright I passed on that vehicle.
I just purchased an 04 with 60k for $27k. It's crystal white AWD without NAV. So far I love it. I'll take some pics as soon as I can
