Just received an email from my dealer. The 2009s have arrived. He said that he could not find anything different from the 2008s except for a $100 price increase.

Since the 2009s are already here, expect a early release for the re-design 2010.

You can now "build your 2009 RX350" at the Lexus website. The only change I noticed besides price was in color availability-Matador Red Mica is now available on the RX350.

As for early release of the 2010, about a year ago the early release of the 2008 was interpreted to mean the all new RX would be released about now. I don't think we can read anything into the early release. It is likely just a marketing ploy. "Why buy a 2008 MDX when you can get a 2009 RX350"

The 2010 re-designed RX350 was probably postponed because of the VENZA launch.....just speculation. Also, maybe Toyota can not handle production requirements, too. Who knows.

I think I would wait. After researching other vehicles I found that Lexus is behind in technology with the RX. They do not offer factory installed satellite radio, keyless start and other features that other manufacturers have. I was going to get an 09 but decided to look elsewhere. Hopefully the 2010 model will have these features and be more competitive.

The current RX doesn't offer factory installed satellite radio, but the car is fully prepared for it, at least with the nav system, and the dealer installed unit is fully integrated with the car audio system, just as well as it would be if the whole system were factory installed.

There is one reason why I'd be more likely to buy an '09 over a '10, and that is that the '10 is probably going to be a larger vehicle. That is a negative to me.

Right, my lexus salesman told me the '10 will compete with the BMW X5 and
naturally it will be more expensive.

my guess is that the base price will be around 43K.

the current fwd model starts at 37 which is actually pretty "low" when compared to the Infiniti FX and the Acura MDX. right now the price looks likes its competitive with the Infiniti EX and Acura RDX

The Matador Red Mica is a very sporty color, I have a GS in that color. There is a picture of one on the Lexus web site:

Well took the plunge and bought a 2009 RX Pebble Beach. Got the VIN number today and expect it in next week. I am moving up from an RX300. I have been really happy with the RX. Also own a 2006 GS but the RX is the one I really like.

Here is the redesigned 2009 RX:

That is, if by "redesigned" you mean "carry-over".
