Default enough tranny issues...

at first itwas the slow shifts that almost get me in to accidents many a time.

NOWWWWW..
first i heard some a whine fromwhat sounded like the tranny. then a few days later, the 2-3 shift is rediculous and clunks! hard. it feels like fuel gets cut off then slams into the gear. thisonly happens when im driving slow and let the tranny do the 2-3 shift between 16 and 24mph.

we have an appoinment scheduled 2morrow but if anyone has any comments, please post.

(i tried removing the negative terminal for 15 mins already but didnt do anything)

sounds serious, dont leave the dealership until they have a good fix. most of us im sure have thr tranny issues, but your problem seems to be more serious. though my tranny does that too sometimes the gear slamming.

Let us know what dealer told you and whether you get a re-manufactured tranny. How often did you change the ATF and what brand?

we only have 24k miles on the car, its not driven much in the almost 3 years we've had it.

this hard shift is definately more than a clunk. if you drive, feels like the fuel cuts off, you lerch foward, then get snapped back into the seat when it slams into gear.

they better be doing something to correct this. we shall see 2morrow what the word is.

whoa downshifts on a downhill is a little crazy.

as for me, lexus of rockville center screwed me. they said i never made an appointment for a loaner and wouldnt give me one. considering I go to that one for the exceptional service, I was not happy - L of R is out of the way for me so it made it even worse... They could do nothing to accomodate me - so I couldnt leave the car today. Called Lexus of Queens and explained the situation, she will be getting back to me today to tell me when I can get an appointment w/ a loaner.

remember that if a dealer is not treating you right a call to lexus HQ, might "speed" things along. so you felt how it drives on a hill? weird how it goes into low gear when in drive going downhill right? or how it stays in high gear when in low gear......
