Default Replacing rear emblem

Has anyone attempted to replace the rear "L" emblem on the tailgate? My wife managed to scratch and dent ours by using the remote tailgate lift while the garage door was still going up. I believe that it is held on by an industrial version of two-sided tape.

Anyone?

See the thread on gold emblems ... my impression is that the "L" is held by a screw ... some one mentioned that a hole is left if you want to debadge it.

You are lucky that only the emblem is scratched and dented and not the paint or hatch itself. I did the exact same thing with my '05, and it cost me $300 at a bodyshop to have the scratch (actually scratches) fixed and emblem replaced - the dealer wanted $750.
