Default Do you still love your RX

Hello all, I like my new GS 350 so much . I am thinking of trading my Aviator for a CPO 04/05 RX 330.
My biggest question is, Do you still like your RX as much as the day you drove off the lot?
What are the biggest likes/dislikes.

Thanks,

Transmission is still a bit jumpy(20,000 miles), but driving a loaner ES350 its like that too. I still love the RX though, its a nice car

I still love mine, but I just got it last night. But, I'm qualified to answer since I traded an '04 RX 330 for the new 350. For me, it's the quintessential automobile. Luxury interior & appointments, smooth ride, good power and plenty of room for carrying people and things. And I personally think it's a real nice looking car as well. I had zero trouble with the '04 and expect the same from this one.

well...

I used to have a 1999 RX300. best car that ive owned up until then.

Four years later i got the 2004 RX330. Now the best car ever that ive owned

next year, when the 2009 comes out, i plan on getting the hybrid.

seriously, its functional, realiable, looks great inside and out, has enough power for a suburban family, good cargo space, and gives you relative "ruggedness" when needed. Also, it adds a touch of class to your life. lexus practically invented, or reinvented the crossover vehicle. you cant go wrong.

It's probably one of the best cars I have ever owned. I have owned quite a few Volvos before I got the Lexus. The service this company provides is exceptional. The transmission with the RX is a bit of a pain with the hesitation but I guess you get used to it. But everything just works (touch wood)

Mate, agree 100%. I am on my 3rd Lexus (IS200, RX330, RX350). I have had zero problems with all three and basically bought my RX350 without even so much as a test ride. The only thing that hurt was trading my beloved RX330!

Default More than I thought

I actually like the RX-350 more than I thought I would. I bought it because a friend said she always wanted one. I was looking at all the mid-size SUV's and had almost decided on the Acura MDX (just could not warm up to the front styling and the plastic wood trim on a 48k vehicle, but that is another story). I stopped by the Lexus dealership on my way to the Acura dealership and drove the RX-350, not overly impressed at that point but decided to buy it to sell to my friend in a couple of years.

Now that I have had it for 3 months I must say it has changed my mind, it is smooth, quiet and good gas mileage (around 22 mpg in daily driving). While it does not handle (in my opinion) as well as the MDX it is superior in so many other areas that I do not regret buying it at all. It is the right size for daily commuting and I am really impressed by the interior roominess. Sure there are somethings I wish it had that would truly make the vehicle outstanding but having owned more cars than I can count including Infinity's, Jaguar's etc, I would say that the Lexus is right up there at the top. I have not been back to the dealership yet (no problems) but expect it to be equal to Infinity or Jaguar which both treat you like you are a customer instead of an inconvience.

So, yes the RX is a good choice

Seems like you got a car just to rub it in your friend's face.. "nee-nor nee-nor i got an RX that you wanted & you can't get one.. haha" Then you say you're intending to sell it to your friend, & boy are you a good friend.

I love my dad's RX350, I drive my GS300 on a daily basis but on those longer trips I borrow his car. The first thing is that it's much more powerful than my car.. going up a hill is a breeze for the RX350. The ride is also really smooth.. you know those speed bumps that hint you to slow down when approaching a toll booth.. with the RX350 I didn't feel it at all.. I just sped through & thought "wasn't there supposed to be bumps there?" haha

If you get a 330, good for you! You are going to love it. If you get a 350, you will feel better. Either way, the RX is solid and will always give you the grin that you can not wipe out every now and then.

Thanks,
as a RX300 owner [8yr] absolutely, positively YES.
Not too happy about ... there are just too many on the road [if you are looking for exclusivity this is not the right vehicle].

I have seen the tons of TSB's. The biggest one being the A/C groan and moan repairs and of course the tranny shifting issues. It will be nice if we can see how many % of the cars had problems. Lexus sells 50~60k of the RX's per year.

Smile 1 Year with the RX350

I just wrote a blog a few days ago about having my 2007 RX350 for 1 year (it's only the second vehicle I've kept past the 12 month point). You can read it here:

Living With The RX350

To sum it up - I'm very critical of cars and go though them faster then some people go thru shoes. My 2007 RX350 was my 50th car and I'm still happy with it today - though there are a few points I make in my blog about living with it. If you want something worry free, hassle free, and almost out-of-mind to own, then the RX350 is a great SUV.

James

PS - The photos shown in my blog ARE NOT me, just some fun photos of things I have done in my RX, but those photos are not me.
