Default Passenger outside mirror

The wife's RX330 is having issues with the passenger side outside mirror staying angled down when shifting back into drive after reversing. Anyone have or had a similar problem?? It's going to the shop later this week and was just looking for some help as to what may be the cause. Thanks!!

Check the Owners manual first but suspect you may be looking at a trip to the Dealer

Just happened to me today! I used the tilt and it tilted. Then my passenger side did not want to go up....so, I manually brought it back. Then it started to get retarded, it will not even adjust. So, I will check on it some more tomorrow.

The mirror tilting problem is pretty common on RX330s. I had our passenger mirror replaced about a month ago, after waiting almost 2 weeks for a mirror to arrive. According to a dealer, RX330s mirrors are usually on a backorder due to the problem, hence the 2 weeks wait.

I wonder why they have not issued a TSB on it. They should.

I have checked for TSB's on this issue, none! 04's to 07's, none.

Default Same Here...

The RX sits in the car port and rarely gets driven. When I was moving it last week to wash it, I noticed that the mirrors would not tilt. I adjusted both, making sure that the "switch" is in the correct setting and still nothing.

Back to the dealer...

Are you able to adjust your mirrors? But it just does not to tilt on reverse?

Thats weird both not tilting?? Are you sure you have the switch to either left or right? Having it in the center disables the tilting feature......

They do adjust, although the left mirror was "frozen" for a moment but worked later without incident. The passenger mirror works fine. I made sure that the switch was in either the left or right position prior to going into "R". Nothing. I made an appointment with my SA for next week.

I wonder if disconnecting the battery would do anything to reset it?

I need to check the manual maybe there is a mention on re-set of tilt. I will also check TSB if any on tilt mirrors.

Update: Took the RX to the dealer on Saturday to have the mirror checked out. They advised me that the actuator had failed as to the reason that the mirror would not return to the set position after tilting downwards. The service manager advised that there is a TSB out there for this problem. They had to order the part(s) necessary for the repair. I will try and find out what the TSB # is for those who are interested.
