Default Front Brake Pads

Guess it is time to replace the front pads(70K) as a slight squeek is coming from them. I have done this many times on others vehicles of mine but never on a LEXUS. Any help would be great. I can't see why I can't do this but always ready to learn.

Should be straight forward. Have you done Toyota? There should be a pdf file on this one, do a search.

Mine make grating sound and there is nothing wrong with them. OEM pads are noisy, and the discs rust real quick. I would suggest inspect first to confirm that they are worn before buying a replacement set.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check them out. Just thought they had to be replaced as the noise just started.

A periodic squeek does not necessary mean you need to replace your brake pads. If the noise becomes constant then your worn brake pad indicator (which is basically a small tab that will begin to rub on the disc) will warn you that you need new pads. If you do decide to replace your pads be careful when backing in your caliper's piston head. You will need to release some brake fluid in order to release pressure, if not you stand the chance of damaging your ABS system.

Better check the brakes...good investment in time and effort, means that you are not guessing.....
