I have halogen lights on my 2008 RX350. I've been getting a lot of crap from friends and neighbors for having halogen headlights. I think halogens are not cool myself too so I'm willing to convert to HID. I want the factory look so I won't just get a HID kit and fit them in the current non-lens housing. Can someone tell me what 'lens'ed housing brands are good and how much they cost? and secondly, if I do the conversion, will I get any error codes or warranty void?
hey 328i, you saying that you have no projector on your RX350? I dun think you need a HID kit, all you need is the HID bulb. Is that what you are looking for? As soon as I got the car, my friend sells HIDs so I ask him to change the factory lights and fog lights to HID. You won't get any error codes for putting a HID kit.
If you want the factory look and performance you will need to get the HID headlight assembly minus the auto leveling and AFS features. Your current halogen assembly is totally different in that it can not accommodate the projectors, HID ballasts and bulbs. This may turn into a pricey upgrade. You have the option to go with an aftermarket HID kit but it doesn't sound like you want to take that route. Plus I wouldn't recommend it since your current housing is not designed to distribute the light source from an HID bulb, it may look cool but performance will not be great.
