No, it's from Consumer Reports' bench test of roughly 60 batteries in 5 different sizes. I found the compatible sizes by searching your model/year on autozone.com, then went to CR to see what batteries were the top performers in those sizes. The complete ratings list is here if you're a subscriber.
I've used their ratings in the past to find a suitable battery for several cars. Thus far I'm happy with the Duralast (AutoZone) in my BMW, the EverStart (Walmart) in my wife's Sebring Convertible and the Interstate MegaTron (Sam's Club) in my Father-in-Law's Grand Prix. All have been good performers, and a LOT cheaper than OEM (especially for the bimmer--$65 vs. $190!!!).
OP, regarding the problems with length of time of inactivity with the car...
I went to Hong Kong last summer and my car didn't move for the 2 months I was there. When I came back to drive(first thing I did since I was on the MTR in HK a lot), it started a little funny but its to be expected. The battery ran fine and everything. No problems but with the starting but it was gone the next time I started it.
