I had to replace my windshield on a 2007 RX350 due to a expanding crack caused by a rock. Dealer referred me to an autoglass repair as they don't do the work. The installer got the right glass (rain sensor + heated windshield + new insulation) but when they installed it, they caught the wiring for the rain sensor etc caught in the wiper mechanism. This eventually caused the wiper motor to burn out and fail the first time it rained.
The dealership has been great - got me in right away and gave me a loaner. They're covering the service between warranty and speaking with the glass shop.
If you have to replace your windshield, be sure the glass installer knows where the wiring is supposed to sit.
