Default Hid question

Has anybody installed hid's in non hid rx ? What did it take and what you paid for it ? Looking at used rx 330 for my wife , silver with grey (first color choice ) for a reasonable price and we are hesitating about it. Please help.

Why bother? Now you do not have to be concerned about your HID's being stolen. I would have preferred to buy a RX330 without HID's, but in Pennsylvania, they all come equipped with HID's.

I am not very sure about rx but i just installed HID for my acura. you need to take the head lamp down to do the wiring and place the ballast. The ballast need to be placed where no water can get to them. i used McCulloch kit which i bought off ebay. Great quality and no problem so far.

Well, why buy a Lexus in the first place? It's just going to get stolen, right?

HID headlights are a luxury and they shouldn't even offer non-HID on these cars.

HID headlight is a luxury item???? They have them in Hyundai now and either the GX or the LX have them. So I guess a Hyundai is more luxurious than a LX470.

Yes, cheaper in price and it has HIDs. Why in the world would anyone buy a LX or a GX over a Hyundai.

I agree with you completely, HID headlights should be standard.

Having HID standard is fine but what about those buyers who don't want HID and are force to pay for it.

I don't agree. I find too often that because of the sharp cutoff of the HID's, it is easy to overdrive them. I'm not talking about excessive speeds but rather 50-55 on two lane roads. I understand why the cutoff exists and the importance of not blinding oncoming drivers. But this prevents even small amounts of light from shining down the road in front.

If I had to do it all over again I would have gone with the standard halogens.

What you may need is a better optometrist. If you are overdriving your HIDs at 50mph, either your speedometer isn’t working or your lights aren’t working or your eyes aren’t working
