My daughter has an IS, however, which she drives every day, and she just leaves the headlights on auto all the time, and has no problems at all. It seems the lights also turn off when you lock the doors with the remote button, which is a nice touch.
Even though your daughter uses the car a lot, I've been told using the auto headlights, NOT turning OFF the A/C and radio before killing the engine cuts the battery life in HALF. That's a BIG drain on a battery just during startup. Just a tip I thought I'd pass along.

I have a 2009 LS-460. Selecting the windshield wiper one notch down from UP, which is OFF, activates the rain-sensing wipers. I leave it there most all the time. TODAY, it started wiping ONE TIME every time I start my car. It's never done this. Additionally, I passed a large truck on the freeway and they wiped ONCE. It was not raining and I surely did not see any water on the windshield from the truck. Any ideas what's going on ? Could the Sensor be going bad, or maybe already has ?

Thanks gang for any advice.

We had this issue as well with a replacement windshield by the prior owner. Lexus was able to reattach the sensor and things work great now. I was a bit annoyed as well that there is no 'manual' intermittent control when you done want to use (or want to bypass) the auto function.

I, too, noticed that the auto wipers had no intermittent setting. Maybe this observation got to the Lexus engineers. I just got a new RC350 and was surprised to see that there was a toggle to switch the wipers from rain-sensing to intermittent. Now I've got it all.
