Unfortunately my tail light lens cover was broken. I bought the new part and was trying to change it my self.

There is a bolt behind the bumper holding this assembly in place. It is very difficult to access and seems impossible to get a a wrench in there to loosen it.

If anyone has experience changing this, I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

 

does tail light means rear lamps?
i took off mine, but it has nothing to do with a bolt behind the bumper

 

Perhaps ac76 meant the rear side marker (red) behind the rear bumper??

I was right. The rear side marker. I've seen those with the brackets. So if you can jack up the car (at least rear wheels), perhaps you can access to the rear bumper area. ???

You are not ac76, aren't you? Do you mean the outter tail lights with turn signal it? Just loosen the bolts & nuts and unplug the sockets. For the back-up lights (inner), you have to remove the liftgate panel (inside) which covers the wirings and rear wiper motor.
