Hi everyone. Need a favor from someone with a RX350. How many hood supports does yours have. Mine only has 1 on the passenger side. Seems odd as I was expecting to see 2. Thanks!

 

You made me walk outside for this!! It's cool in Boston! There is only one on the passenger side. My '03 Camry (traded) has one on the driver side. My Kia Sorento has two.

I don't know why they don't have 2. It isn't that much more money. It is good for the redundent one. I've had a hood fall on my head and it hurts!

btw, the weather in TX is great this week. I hope life in Waco is good. I just moved out after 4 years there and am going back this weekend for homecomming.

 

My experience on these hood struts (hood lift supports) is when they fail, they won't even stay open. Hood is barely pop up with the failed hood supports. So it won't be like fall on your head. Even when you try to stay open it with hands, it will drop slowly.

Well, these gas hood lifter is about $30+ each on most cars. I'm not sure if this is cost saving.
