Good morning.
My problem sounds similar with a few wrinkles. My car went to a body shop for repair of the two drivers side doors. When I got the car back, the power rear door would not function, either with the dash board button or the key fob. The valet switch in the glove box has been toggled several times. The battery was disconnected and reconnected to see if that would reset the computer. The door worked exactly once and stopped working again. I tried the open and close manually three times trick to see if that would reset the computer. Again, no good. The local Lexus dealer said it was the lift gate motor. That was replaced and it worked exactly once then stopped working again. Now the dealer says it is the latch. When operated manually, you can hear the latch disengaging and the rear door opens. When the rear door is all the way open, you can hear another mechanism in the door work. When closing the door, the latch engages properly and the rear door locks. When opening manually the latch disengages properly. When resetting with a battery disconnect, the door motor works, but only once. This sounds like a computer problem but the dealer keeps trying to sell me mechanical parts. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
