voice recognition mode finished problem

voice recognition mode finished problem
When I press the Voice Recognition Mode button on steering wheel, more often than not, it says "Voice Recognition mode is finished." On screen, it shows the voice recognition box with only Cancel (not Help) highlighted.
Sometimes doing it over again helps. Sometimes not.
Does anyone else have this problem?
What causes it?
What can you do to correct it?

The system is working normally...
if you hold the button down like a walkie-talkie it will say:" Voice recognition mode is finished." You want to push the button and release and then wait for the beep. You will also see the microphone icon superimposed on the compass at the top left of the screen. Say your command and nothing else as it is easily confused by extraneous noise. It will confirm your command. If it is wrong, try again. Practice pays off!
