Default My New RX

I just got an 06 RX 330 a few days ago!! I looove it!

Then I found out a few days later the RX 350 is coming- I wonder if I should have waited.

I do! I do!

The only bad thing about it is that I don't want to park it anywhere near other cars so it barely comes out of the garage! It's my new baby

Default it depends

You want to hear the truth ot be stroked, that you did the right thing?

The RX330 powertrain is remarkably unrefined. Engine noisey and weak with poor mileage while the transmission is similarly unrefined. Whatever they did to the RX350, it cannot be worse.

Frankly, the noisey engine of our RX330 reminds me of cheap FWD GM rentals I have had. Toyota should be embarassed. They wend from something as velvet smooth as our '92 LS400 to the RX330???

GM has nothing to be ashamed of if this is the best Toyota can do.

The RX330 would also get destroyed perfomance-wise by my modified RX300 and I am going after the RX400h/RX350.

The noisy engine doesn't bother me at all. I like to hear my engines in my cars Anyway, from day one many on this RX330 forum has been saying the engine noise is louder than your typical Lexus of past. It may be quiet compared to some other brands, but for those that are used to Lexus it really is much louder than expected. Again, this does't bother me at all, but it did/does bother others.

Only you can determine if you are happy or you should have waited for the RX350. If you are happy with it that is all that matters. We have had our 04 RX330 for a while now (Since April 2003), so my persepctive of this car may be differenty from a new owners one. Anyway, enjoy your RX

Enjoy the vehicle. There is always something new/different being offered either by Lexus or others. The key is getting the best out of your ride.

As a public forum you will hear both negative and positive opinions. Unfortunately, since people are sitting too afar apart and behind a computer, at times unkind statements are made, which would constitute as 'impolite' [true or not .. does not matter]. I would urge members to start a 'gripe' thread and not rain on others parade.

I hope you feel welcome and would stay and share your experiences.

personally, i like hearing the low purr of the engine when starting out. it's definitely very quiet at idle. 2 things i can agree with: 1) the tranny does suck. the shifting improved 50% since i got the upgrade. 2) the 3.3 is pretty weak (maybe cause i test drove an is350 ). but it does suit the rx well, but i'd love more power. i'm planning on waiting for the new rx to come out; i want all the goodies, especially the smart access & push button start!!

Completely agree with you Salim. Please don't turn this board into something like the Roadfly BMW 3-series board.

Well I'm lovin my RX 330

I'm just thankful to even have such a nice car at my age. I probably look like a little dork smiling and driving around, haha!

I need to wash her, she's pretty dirty though. I went from having a white car to Flint Mica which I can tell is not going to be easy to keep clean!

Not sure what car you were driving. Got my RX several months ago and i can barely hear it. No were close to the Pathfinder or the GM cars.
