Question Adaptive Transmission reset

I drove my wife's new Rx to a first service and noticed that it drives so much different from the day I testdrive it. I suspected adaptive transmission is the reason and I asked dealer to reset it.
It was flying again. Plus mileage per gallon went back to normal (26 on freeway).
if few month later ( today ) I drove it again, same ****...slow, mi/ga went to 22 or 16 in city.
Is there a way to disable "adoption"? or reset it without going to dealer?

You can pull the ECU fuse. It's in the fuse box under the hood. Leave it out for about 20 seconds then put it back. I do this during my monthly check.

I also hate adaptive transmission. It makes my tranny shift rough, saves no gas, and bogs down the acceleration. The engineer that came out with this bright idea should be taken out in front of a firing squad.

Default RX Fuse Reset

I pull the fuse everytime I get gas. So theres not much difference in driving. When my kid puts in gas. She doesnt pull it. And you can tell the difference taking off from a stop or pulling into traffic. It will just hang. And slowly build up speed.

From what ive seen the fuse number is different from year to year. And FWD or AWD. So you need to break out your owners manual. Look for the ECU or EFI.

I used to pull it with the little plastic holder thats in the fuse box cover. After a couple of times. I put a piece of tape on the top of the fuse. And doubled over the tape to make a little tab to pull.

KeysRx300 - are you sure that pulling the fuse does the trick? I got the impression you had to wait 15-20 mins with the fuse pulled before the settings were lost.

BTW, do you lose your radio or seat settings each time the fuse is pulled?

It's the ECU fuse. Remove key from ignition. Find the fuse box under the hood. I am not familiar with RX330, but it should be right next to the battery like RX300. Open the fuse box cover. On the back of the cover, you should see a diagram showing the ECU fuse location and a small fuse puller. Identify the ECU fuse. Use the fuse puller to pull the fuse straight out. Don't twist or bend the fuse. Leave it out for about 20 seconds then put it back in.

In the big fuse box next to the battery, it is a 20 amp yellow fuse called EFI. Pull that out. You will not lose your settings.

If you want a MUCH better response, take off the negative end of the battery for about 10 minutes. I do remember losing the time, but since I never use the radio now that I have XM, I cannot remember about those settings.

It takes about 3 full throttle launches to get the car where you want it.

Now I'm confused - which one resets the adaptive transmission?
Is it the 7.5 amp ECU-B fuse OR the 20 amp EFI fuse OR either one?

It's the yellow 20 EFI. Sorry for the confusion.
