Thumbs up Fuel Injector Noise

Good news! Lexus picked up my Rx330 this AM for general service (30K miles)and then called to tell me that Lexus just released the fix for the ticking fuel injectors. The tech said the fix involves several hoses and clamps to relieve an injector pulsing issue.

That's great news. The ticking noise has been bugging me ever since I bought the RX330 a year ago. One question, is there any TSB related to this sympton? Can you post the exact part numbers replaced by the dealer? Thanks!

I will post the TSB when I get my RX back today. Can't wait to not hear the ticking.

The TSB replaces two existing components and adds a third to the fuel delivery system. Essentially the fix adds an inline damper between the floor tube line (tank to engine hard pipe) and the flex line going to the engine (firewall to fuel rail). The damper isolates the ticking pulses of the fuel injectors from the hard pipe (basically the ticking would echo through the pipe and get amplified enough to be heard in the cabin). The TSB replaces the fuel tube in the floor bundle and the flex line going to the engine. The new component (Pipe Sub Assy Fuel No. 2) fits between the two and gets bolted to the LH inside of the hframe.

Arnie, any updates on the TSB #. This is the final fix for the rx to make it that perfect car. I cannot wait myself.

Is this TSB valid for RX300's as well? (2000)

The number is TSIB: EG005-05

It turns out my description before did not apply to the TSIB. It was the design change that was made to the vehicle to countermeasure the problem. The field fix appears to be different.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but....no. There does not seem to be a TSIB for the RX300 for a fuel ticking noise.

Krpster, although it was not as what you described before, does this TSIB still fix the ticking noise from the injectors?

I brought my RX300 in too, and they wrote this...

"There is an update to reduce noise level. Needs to replace fuel pipe, damper and gasket"

So they said would order the parts and book me in for the fix.
Is this the same type of fix as the RX330?

I also hate that ticking noise from a car that's supposed to be "quiet" while idling....

Default My Engine is now Quiet!

Just got back from the dealership....TSB EG5011 worked on my RX330! Now I have to really lean forward to hear the ticking sound, and even then it might just be my imagination. It's that smooth.

My RX330s is even quieter at idle than the 2004 ES330 loaner car I just returned.

I highly recommend this TSB to anybody with an RX330 in colder climate.

When your repair is complete please post the results and the parts they used from receipt. That will give the rest of us with RX300 something to work from.

It's been 2 weeks since they said they will order the parts. they also said the parts are available at the headquarter(where is that in Canada?)
2 weeks.....i think i'm gonna give them a call soon to see the progress of this. If there's a fix for RX330, i have a feeling that the parts used and stuff might be almost the same for RX300. Maybe that's y i'm not getting my parts yet?
