My dealership has just informed me that they are expecting a price increase on all models, so I need to make a decision soon. I am considering 3 colors; break water blue, crystal white and savannah. Any thoughts or problems with any of these colors (i read somewhere that lexus canceled the sand dollar on the LX & GX due to quality issues on the fenders). I wonder if there are any issues with either of the three RX colors i am thinking about.
Also, it seems the biggest quality issue on the RX is the dash rattle. Has it been rectified for model year 2005?
Also regarding the paint choices you described, there are no problems. Sand Dollar is a hard pearl color to match which is why the issue was happening with the flex additive added to the paint and the polyurethane pieces. Sort of like the Diamond White Pearl 051 issues on the 1st Gen Solaras and such.
I like the break water blue. I almost went with it, but the flint mica was calling me. On another note ... I have a late year 04' RX330 with about 10k, and I have had no problems.
I have an 05 and have not had a problem with it. If you like the Breakwater blue you should look at the Neptune Blue Mica it's a darker blue but very nice.
