Just got my 2004 RX330 about a month ago but can't believe the poor design on the sun visors. How are you supposed to pull them down when there is no finger cutout? Also, the brochure and lexus.com web site advertise the RX as having "sun visor extensions". What are these? I just have a simple visor on either side...no pull-outs or anything but a lighted mirror.
Does anyone have "sun visor extensions"?

I believe the extension refers to the ability to slide the visor down its rail when the visor is turned to the side window. It is very helpful when the sun is at certain angles to the vehicle.
Hey thanks for the tip. I didn't realize the visors slid on the rail. I was expecting a second panel so you could make a right angle visor.
I still find it to be a poor design that there is no depression to put your fingers to pull down the visor. Even my old Windstar van has a cutout in the headliner.
My driver's side sun visor cover can't open unless you push down the fabric that's above the mirror's hinge. It will open with force and makes a loud snap. I need to take this in and get it replaced.

The visors are really made crappy. The are only cardboard and once that leading edge of the cardboard where the top of the plastic cover gets bent you have that opening and closing problem. How do I know this? Because about 2 months ago both my drivers and passanger visors had this problem. What happens is the plastic covers top end could rub against the visor and eventually get snagged on its edge and bend the cardboard behind the fabric. Anyway, both mine were replaced under warrany by my dealer. They didn't have the parts so it took about 3-4 weeks to get it done though. So far it is all good but since it is build the same way it could happen again.
Hehe, I foget to notice you are from Hawaii as well When you go to the dealer they should know exactly what your problem is since it was my problem as well. I wonder if they will tell you something like "This is the first we ever saw this happen to any RX"

CK6Speed - Is it the hot Hawaiian sun causing this?? I'm going down today to show them. I'm on Maui, so I'll probably be their first complaint.
Saturday: I took my 330 down yesterday, and the service guys said there's a "TSB"? out on it, so I guess that's some sort of factory recall?? 2 new ones will be ordered!
