I just bought a low mileage 2004 RX330 without Mark Levinson Audio, and with Navigation. The car has a backup camera installed, which displays on the nav screen. This is going to be my kids car, and I'd like to install a stereo that supports carplay.
Crutchfield has several options/kits - and it looks like they remove the factory radio and install in its place, with some connectors/cables - great. However, I'd like to retain the existing back up camera, and from what I can tell that might not happen if/when I change the radio out. Does anyone know if that is the case? Do I need to install a different camera if I do that, or can I wire the existing camera to the new radio? The ideal case, of course, is that the existing screen and camera continue to work, and the built in navigation (with audio) continues to work as well...
Also, if anyone has a recommendation as to what radio fits and works well, I'm all ears! Thanks!
Same subject gets covereed about once a month, there are MANY threads, including one of my own resolving this question try the "Search" feature you'll find many many posts/threads about replacing OEM units with double din units very inexpensively providing full Android Auto/Apple whatever there's is AND rear cameras too. No need to pay Crutchfields premiums. AS for keeping the OEM camera I cannot comment on that, I purchased a unit that connects to my new double din unit and ran the cable myself but I believe that subject has also been covered
