I closed the cupholder lid on my Lexus RX400h and wasn't able to open it for a while. Decided to figure out why it's stuck shut and finally found out the issue, Now I can slide the console forward and backwards too. Decided to just let the cupholders open.

 

Huh, that thing is designed to slide? I had no idea. Never tried.

Our car’s cupholder lid is in fact balky - not stuck but it is difficult to use. Thanks for this, may have to go in and do the same.
