I can open the rear hatch with button on dash and remote but when closing it beeps closes about 6 inches and reverses to full open. This is a new issue i replaced struts 6 months ago . There are no obstructions I can manually close the hatch and it will latch. Its like the pinch protection activates

 

with aftermarket struts the weather affects them... it is really hot in Texas right now so struts have pressure in them... mine do the same thing in the summer

 

You might need to let some air out of your struts.
I always run mine at spec pressure.
