Code P0505
Hello
I had not used my 2006 RX400h for 3 months during winter. I expected the battery to go dead. So I jump started it. It started but with very high revs and the message 'check hybrid' appeared. I had such message before after jump starting the car but then switched off after the battery was full and left overnight. I switched off the engine. I then replaced the battery with a brand new one. The 'Check hybrid' message was still there but as previously experienced it switched off after 24 hrs.
Now, I have an amber colour check engine icon on. I checked with a code reader and says P0505 code. This is related to IAVC (idle air control valve) or also know as ISC (idle speed control valve). In addition, the engine does not switch off when car is stopped as it used to. Could the P0505 cause this issue or these two issues are unrelated? How does one fix both?
Thank you for your time reading and responding to this message in advance.

I have no idea about your problem so I'm not much help.
All I know is that I'd be looking well under the hood and all around for rodents chewing wires if it's cold up there.
Only reason is because it sat for 3 months and critters like to nest in cozy warm places. 🤓
batteries charge deteriorates when not used, this inc;ludes both the 12v as well as your larger high voltage "hybrid" battery. Letting a hybrid sit is really not good for them they need to be exercised regularly or the cells will become unbalanced and eventually either someone getting them back to good using a "grid charger" or eventual costly replacement.
I had such message before after jump starting the car but then switched off after the battery was full and left overnight. I switched off the engine - not sure what you're trying to say here, did you leave the car idling overnight? Was the 12v on a charger overnight? How do you know the battery was "full" and which of the two batteries are you referring to?
Without a proper grid charger to address your hybrid abttery your best bet would be to exercise the car hard. If the 12v is older than 4 years and/or you've ever left lights or such on that it required a jump start good chance it is no longer strong enough to rely upon so needs replacing, the very expensive hybrid is likely very low on charge exercising it may bring it back up to a decent charge and once the voltage gets up your auto-start'stop should re-engage. Get it out on the highway and really drive it fairly hard to clean out the engine, when approaching any stops or lights take your foot off the gas realy early letting the car coasts from a long ways out that will help the generator recharge the hybrid battery OR let it coast down a really long hill if you have access while in gear (not neutral). If you have a Battery Tender or C-tek throw that one for at least one full night a coupe nights would be better for the 12v. I routinely put my C-Tek on my 12v about every 3 or 4 mo's to make sure the 12v is properly topped off.
What Margate said abour critters and wires is spot-on. Has this happened before and what, if anything, has been done to the car in the last maybe 6 moths? Anything related to the problems you're having now or had any work done recently?
