I recently had to replace all 4 tires on my '08 RX400, and I think the TPMS sensors were screwed up in the process. I've got a continuous "low tire" warning. Heck, I've never driven a car where I relied on TPMS alerts, and at $400 to replace them all, I'm not buying it. Is there any way to stop that irritating warning on my dash, and just go back to checking my tire pressure in the primitive manner?
Sounds like they need to be re-calibrated at least. I'd go back to whomever put these tires on to make sure they're reading correct. The less time that passes, the more willing your tire shop will be to cover any incurred costs.
this isn't going to solve your problem, but to find out if all the TPMS sensors are working, go to Discount Tire and ask them to check them. They will do this for free. If you ever need one replaced, Discount Tire is the least expensive place I've found.
One thing you can try before going back to the tire place is check and set the air pressure in all 5 tires. Yes, the spare tire has a sensor in it also. Then do a relearn on the TPMS system. Do this for both tire set positions.
