I'm dealing with a broken driver's side AFS HID headlight the result of a deer impact (separate thread).

As I'm sorting things, I have a very general question hence the separate thread.

When you turn the stalk control to the first notch, what lights should come on? Back in the day, some called them parking lights and it was everything BUT the headlights themselves.

When I look at it now, first notch turns on the taillights on the body and on the hatch plus the very low marker lights in back. But I see nothing from the front. But I cannot remember what there ever was. I don't know if I have a fuse out or there just never was anything in front.

Turn signals do work as do the brights, daytime running lights and fog lights. HID on the impact side was smashed and I've removed it.

 

Parking lights on your headlights are the tiny 194 bulbs that are on the side markers of your headlight that are underneath the yellow reflector. The incandescent bulbs are notorious for burning out and are impossible to replace without removing the headlight. I've had leds running in them for 2 years now. I didn't even realize mine were burnt out in over a decade. Lol

 

I replaced mine w/ leds........as well as the foglites w/ leds.......

 

replaced mine too with a led, should be acessible without removing the headlight, you can acess from the back, tight but accessible.
