Im about to install a brand new rack and pinion on my 07 RX. I've been watching the car care nut's videos on how to replace these units and what fluid to use on hydraulic power steering systems on toyotas in general and he highly suggests Idemitsu Power Steering fluid over the typical cherry red ATF. I've been using mobil synthetic ATF all these years on my power steering system but to my surprise i couldn't find any locally. I looked it up and i see now that Dexron III is now superseded by Dexron VI and is backward compatible with the extremely relevant caveat that it may or may not be compatible with non-GM vehicles that spec Dexron III. So I just said F it and just ordered a box of the Idemitsu stuff on amazon. Anyone else use this stuff? I trust whatever the car care nut guy has to say so i cant imagine it being bad.
