Default DRL "Partial" Delete

I don't have a Techstream setup as yet and I want to delete the factory high beam, low output DRL feature. As listed thru a thread you can swap the relay for a 4 post (instead of the OE 5 post) which allows for a bypass, cancelling the DRL
Relay is : Toyota relay part #90084-98031
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ictures-3.html

My question is; can you bypass the high beam/ low output DRL system using the 4 post relay without permanently shutting off the small bulb City lights(running light just above the high beam bulb) in the headlights?
Thanks for replies
Hary

Yes....I pulled the relay out yrs ago.....Those lights above are park lite of which I replaced them w/ leds as well the driving lights w/ leds.....The driver side foglite is easy to change, the passenger side is a tad bit more as the washer bottle is there, but its doable. Of course turn the tires to get at them & remove the forward part of the fender liner.......

I replaced the relay which cancelled the DRL's and can now run on the City lights alone. It didn't effect anything else just blocked the 1/2 output high beam DRL
I run on city lights which power the tail lights because we have more accidents from people following than head on situations and the DRL's were bothering oncoming cars. They were too bright. Not anymore

I did this mod last night. I ordered the relay off eBay for 8.00 and has been sitting on my bench for a week. I wanted to do this because I could not find a LED bulb that would run the DRL and have a decent output for the high beams in 6k. I am trying out some LED fog light housing replacements I found on eBay and using them as my DRL's. So far so good. I'll take better pics later, but this was the look I was going for - no more yellowish DRL's.

Yeah, I get you....Seems like so many ppl here are running with out their headlights on,(dusk, early morning & when raining, possibly thinking that their drl is good enough & on top of that the IP lights are all lit up as well......

Driving the RX; We tend to drive with full lights whenever our weather is heavily overcast / rain besides night time conditions. We drive with full lighting when we drive our all black Merecdes SL pretty much all the time. The car is a black hole when it comes to visibility.

I run my headlights on all my cars day and night. Just want to be seen always. Gives a visual to other drivers and heightens awareness. The brain takes over after this stimulus.

I wish they mandated DRL’s with tail lights. I see way too many driving in complete darkness on DRL that’s why in even full daylight I run City lights
