Default 2000 RX300 Engine Replacement

This is a series of videos I've done as a guide for replacing, removing, refreshing the engine in a 2000MY Lexus RX300.

The first video covers removing/dropping the engine from the car. In the past, when forced to do so, I have pulled the engine out the top. But whenever possible, I prefer to drop the engine with the transmission on the engine cradle subframe.

In this video I cover the important differences between 1MZ-FE 3.0-liter engines found in different Toyota models. The most important differences:
1. FWD vs 4Wd - the block is different.
2. RX300 vs Highlander - the oil pump and timing belt components are different.

If you have purchased a Highlander engine, or other engine with the same timing components, you have no option but to remove the oil pump and replace it with a RX300 compatible oil pump.

Bonus Track 2: Elaboration on the all-important service bolt that many people overlook, with dire consequences, when servicing the camshafts.

And of course when you do all this, you have to do the timing belt, so here's another bonus track. Enjoy!

This is not really about the engine - it's about replacing the radiator. I've seen a few videos that suggest an incorrect way of removing the radiator. Here I do it the right way.

And while we're at it, a quick guide to the ball joints, that can be perplexing if you're not used to this sort of thing.

Nice set of videos on your YT channel. Everybody should throw you a sub.
Note the last two in this thread are showing as private - they might look different to you.

Sorry, those last two videos should be public in a day or two.

Please leave a link in the DIY thread. Remember the DIY thread is just a launch point/index and the actual DIY should not be posted there.
