Personally i would opt for a re-manufactured transmission. With a used transmission, you can just take the seller's word on mileage and you are just gambling on internal condition of components. You never know how it was cared for/neglected. Also parts yards may have them sitting around for years in all sorts of weather before they pull them from donor cars. Most of the parts yards also have a policy to remove all fluids as well per local EPA rules. I would think the longer it sits, the likelihood solenoids would stick, ferrous parts would get flash rust from moisture, etc..

Thank you fastnoypi

The issue I am having is to find a remanufactured transmission, for example, the Jasper transmissions website part finder does not list it as being available.

The transmission type is U140E FWD Lexus RX 300 2002

Any other leads on fairly priced remanufactured transmissions?

Just try Google with keywords : "u140e remanufactured" if you find a vendor, definitely discuss any warranty terms, some may only grant coverage if you have it installed within their affiliate network. Pickup the phone and inquire even if the U140E is not listed on their website, often they just farm the web maintenance to someone and online listings are incomplete. Good luck on your search.

Hello,

I called ETE Reman (www.etereman.com) and they told me that unless I am a car mechanic shop, I need to buy directly from their distributors e.g. AutoZone, RockAuto, O'Riley etc.

Of course, those are heavily marked up and they offer their own warranty.

Does anyone have a work around to this? Anyone on here a car mechanic/shop whom can order this for me and of course I would pay you a fair markup and shipping etc.

Thank you

On ETE home page on the bottom right is a form to find an installer.
