Mark,

Someone on this forum one mentioned to differentiate between an actual remanufactured transmission (such as done by Lexus) and one which is merely rebuilt. Maybe check on that, too!

The lock, unlock, panic not respond when buttons pressed. The rear passenger door can not lock manually, unlock the passenger by the key, alarm goes off. but the driver door ok. Since you have lot of experience on this car. I hope you can help me where to look. I have electrical and some mechanical back ground

Thanks in advance

Hi Joseph, It's been a few years. If I remember correctly, the door lock didn't respond to my remote control lock/unlock. I took off the door panel and found the linkage (cable?) was broken nearby the lock mechanism. I cut a certain length piece from the metal clothe hanger, shaped it, one end connected to the factory cable broken end by making a tight "U turn" on each piece then hooking them up. The other end of the new added piece goes through the lock thing which is difficult to explain but you will know once you are there. It is not too difficult to fix. If the broken end is in a difficult point, you can cut factory cable even a bit shorter to bring the "broken" point to a more convenient point. The joint point should not be blocked by anything when the door is locked/unlocked. The travel distance is about half inch I guess.

Hope the above helps a little. I will be checking back this thread often so please let us know your progress.

I dont think Lexus remanufactures the transmission. They most likely contract remanufacturing.
