RX300 blowing "Gauge" 7.5 fuse after using key to open windows
I have a 2002 RX300 AWD that I just purchased the other week. Everything was working fine, until I lost power to the windows, A/C and the "highs & mids" of the stereo. Weird.
I know this may be a shot in the dark, but has anyone experienced this....
Strereo details: I have power to the radio & CD player. It displays on the HUD. I can also hear the bass/lows if I crank the volume. Highs & mids are absent.
A/C details: the a/c used to work great. Now there is no power to the controls, nor any display in the HUD.
Windows: the windows worked, mostly. The RR was wonky, and I could see discoloration on the master controller board. A replacement arrives Monday. Now, NONE of the window switches work!Possible Cause: I used the "open windows with driver-side key" feature. The windows started going down and stopped about mid-way.
Troubleshooting: I noticed the #16 "Gauge" fuse in the "Instrument Panel Junction Box" was blown. It blew immediately after trying to replace it.
Much thanks in advance!

If youre blowing a fuse immediately. That means you have a dead short. Easiest way, is to get a wiring diagram, find the circuit which is blowing, and what all components it feeds. Then you need to isolate each item one at a time. You can either use fuses, or if your familiar with a volt ohm meter, use it to let you know when you've isolated the offending device. If you disconnect all devices, and still have the short, then you've got a wiring problem. Which if it has to do with door stuff, id be willing to bet the problem is in the doors, either a burnt switch or where the wire comes through the bulkhead from the car to the door.
