LOST KEYS:

I lost the remote control key at my son's graduation yesterday. Found it cost almost $200 for a replacement.

Any suggestions on how or where I can get a replacement for a reasonable amount?

Unfortunately, $200 is about what it will cost you! You can find uncut remote keys on ebay for maybe $100 from time to time, however, they need to be both cut and programmed into the car (transponder chip and remote control). Non-remote control keys are fairly inexpensive at some locksmiths (perhaps in the range of $75) if you can find a locksmith so equipped. You can also find cut used keys on ebay for as little as $10, but they are virtually useless.

On another key subject, the gold "L" logo on my remote keys has worn down and they look horrible. I was told by someone that there was a stainless steel inlay product sold by some aftermarket accessory company that replaces the gold "L" logo on Lexus keys. Does anyone know about this and who sells them?

That is no gold. It is brass like material and what you see is patena (sp?) like gunk.

You can buy those gold (L) pieces to stick on your remotes on ebay. Also on the Lextascy website. Hope I spelled it right.... They are less than 8.00 for a pair.
