Default updates?

I have been having the same issue with a leak between the cat and resonator, too many repairs and now it is time to replace.
Wondering now that you guys have done this repair a while ago, how are the pipes holding up? Being I'm on Long island, concerned with rust and how long the walker parts will last.
Wanted to get some feedback before purchasing.

Thanks

Hi, I recently replaced the resonator and reused the cat on my 2003 Highlander. Here is a link to a short write-up w/pics over on the Toyota Nation site. Perhaps this will provide you with some options. BTW I later replaced the saddle clamp with a second band clamp as there was some minor leakage after a few weeks. You'll see what I mean in the photos. Regards, Haya....

BTW- I have used Walker parts to replace the front pipe (2013) rear muffler (2015) and the resonator (2017). All are holding up well. My feeling is that Walker is a good alternative at a fair price. All pieces I purchased via Amazon.

Thanks for the reply and info on your repair. I found a nice custom muffler/exhaust shop here on long island. They did a great job on removing the section between the cat and resonator and created a new piece. So far so good, i can't given complain about the price.
If anyone is interested on who did it, send me a message. I'm unsure if i can list their name here.
Jim

Hi colenze
  1. I hear the same story here from my Midas shop with life expectancy 2-3 years, and asking arounf $2.5K. My lexus Is250awd 2009 didn't reach 60K miles at this time. I would like to keep it an extra 5 years minimum.... Apparently my low mileage is part of the problem, letting condensation rusting it faster than with a very hot exhaust. Most of my drive is less than 5 miles each time.
