I went to power wash the underbody... WOW is my rust bad. Both rear parts of my rockers now have holes and anything not aluminum is covered. How is yours holding up?? FLORIDA drivers need not apply!!! Ha!!
No rust here except some on some fasteners and the pinch welds. I try to be mindful after any big winters to throw a sprinkler underneath to rinse any road salt.

No to thread jack, but since I'm in the rust belt (NE Ohio), I think my next used car will come from a state that does not use salt in the winter. Anyone have an idea where the magic line is that would get me to a salt free state? I know there are obvious places down south and out west, but heading south from Ohio, where is the safe zone?

You'll just have to find the closest state that doesn't use salt. Here in Texas they sand the bridges and occasionally intersections but no salt. If I lived in the rust belt I would just figure in the cost of going after a Florida car, nice vacation!
Clean as can be, no rust.
I am in Las Vegas, Nevada but according to the Lexus Drivers web site, my car was originally from Virginia. 176,000 miles and loving it, thanks to all the help from this site.
I don't think Florida is nearly as rust-free as Arizona. You have heat, humidity, and salt spray near the ocean.
I think you are definitely right on that one bob. Only real threat around here(if you really want to call it one) is the summer heat. But short of that; we really dont have too much to complain about. No snow; no road salt, etc etc so there ya go. I would look for a rx from here if thats what yer going after for the next used vehicle.
Well, the pipe after the resonator fell off the other day. It broke at the weld, was just hanging there. I bought a new walker resonator, cut off the old one. Turns out the metal splash guard attached to the rear cat was just hanging there as well.
Rear cat, just in front of the O2 sensor has a 1/2 US dollar size hole.
