How imperative is it to let the engine warm up for say about 30 sec or so right after startup in order to let the oil get pumped back up to the top of the engine etc. because the engine oil flows back down to the bottom of the oil pan after the vehicle sits for awhile like sitting overnight?

 

I hear plenty of people (experts and amateurs) say that you don't need to let the car run too long to warm up. For my peace of mind, especially in the Arctic North, I let the car run for a minute or 2 just to get it's blood flowing. It doesn't hurt, and doesn't waste much fuel.
As far as you doing it in Arizona, i would say start it, and by the time you get the seat belt on, AC adjusted, sunglasses on, etc. you'll be fine....

The pump will get the oil up in hurry 700-1200rpms.

The key is to drive slowly (without stressing) till you gradually reach optimum temp. As you drive, you put to use the energy from combustion and the effort to move to help you get to optimum temp.

Yep I sorta thought about that too salim. I don't usually get on it right away after sitting all nite just for that reason

 

I warm my RX300 for two minutes every morning and I take it easy when driving until optimum operating temperature. I just like to baby my RX

 

I believe its based on where you live. If you live in the city and driving down city streets all the time, I think 30 seconds to 2 minutes all you need. Now if you live off a major highway like I do in the country (the speed limit where I live is 60 mph) then I would wait like 10 to 15 minutes so the temp comes up.
