Broke key

I purchased a new blank key on ebay.. just the shell.. I have the remote part from the old key.. the old key cracked at the neck.. Can I get the key cut at lowes or home depot or do I need to go to the dealership?

I had to find a locksmith that would cut a lexus key. In Kansas City there are few choices. Lexus will not cut a key that was not purchased from their parts dept.

Lexus are pretty common, so your local locksmiths should be able to tell you over the phone if they can or can not. They would need a good key to make a duplicate. They will have to determine if the broken key can be duplicated.
