Default wallet key

Hello:

I lost my wallet key for rx330. I still have the master keys and valet key. Is it a big deal that I lost the wallet key and how much is it to replace it ?

Thanks !!

Answer to your question is a phone call away ... call your dealership.

Check the net (ebay etc) for alternative.

The idea behind the wallet key is simply a backup in case you loose your keys. Being a wallet key, one can carry the spare conviniently.

Did you wallet key have the chip-id [to disable imobilizer]? If it did your replacement cost will be higher + additional expense to have it registered [remember to ask the dealership].

You can purchase a key blank and have it cut by specailist locksmith. This will enable you to unlock and get into your vehicle.

I find it rather surprising that Lexus does not have its own On-Star system to open locks like GM and Mercedes has. That would eliminate the need for the wallet key altogether.

Now I never thought of that but that is a great idea. Of course if u do not subscribe to On Star they can't help u but with the wallet key no subscriptions needed. So as they say, 6 of one or 1/2 dozen of another.
